To increase the chances of more shelter animals finding their perfect match, the Metro East Humane Society holds an annual adoption event on Black Friday. The event is made possible by the generous support of the shelter’s sponsors who cover the adoption fees.
This year’s adoption event was a huge success, with a total of 94 animals, including 64 dogs, finding loving homes. The staff at the shelter were thrilled to see so many animals finally getting the happy ending they deserved.
Amidst all the happiness and excitement, there was one furry friend who remained unnoticed – Frito, a lovable pup from the shelter.

When the people at the shelter saw that their charming girl had been unnoticed, they felt let down. “She is such a wonderful and worthy girl, so it was disheartening that no one showed interest in her. We all see how unique Frito is, so it was sad to see her being ignored by so many,” Ali Hillard, the program manager, shared with The Dodo.

As she walked in, the shelter was eerily quiet, and Frito soon realized she was the only one left. Despite the melancholy atmosphere, Frito refused to be sad and instead continued to play and bring joy to those around her.
