Barrie Mawby, Demi’s father, passed away towards the end of 2018, followed by the death of her mother Christine in June 2019.
On World Suicide Prevention Day, the brave lingerie model spoke about her personal experience with grief on Sky News with Kay Burley to raise awareness for mental health. She shared that when she was 17, her mother had a heart attack and stroke which left her disabled. In 2018, her father passed away from cancer and her mother tragically lost her life to a stomach infection after being sick for an extended period of time. Coping with such immense loss was extremely challenging, but Demi found comfort in meditation, sound healing, and her faith. Though it took time, she feels that she has made progress and is now in a much better place.
